Just met this officer who has left for a 6 month deployment-need some advice from military guys and their gfs!

Hi, I've been searching for some similar questions but I really haven't found a situation like this, I was wondering if people in the military could help me out. Firstly, I'm 30 and this officer is 28 (so no high school romance thing), we started chatting for a month or two (almost every night) and met twice, and live in cities about 3 hours' drive apart from each other. When we met, it was sparks right away! But unfortunately a week later (this was 2 weeks ago) he left for a 6 month deployment in Kosovo. Now I have no clue how to go about this, I can't write all these mushy ';I love you, I miss you'; letters, because it has just started... How do I let him know I am *really* interested in him and would wait for him? I think about him so much, but it is just so awkward to write all of this now. But I know it is a different circumstance, I just don't know how these guys feel and what they need to hear when they are away... Can you help? My advice for you would be to show some interests about his serving there, first getting some information about the situation in Kosovo, showing him you are not indifferent about his future and his security. After that, let him show to you that he deserves your love?Just met this officer who has left for a 6 month deployment-need some advice from military guys and their gfs!

Well, I think its great that you've found someone ';really'; great and that you're willing to wait. But as already mentioned, always keep your options open and dont put all your hopes on this guy. You can still write to him - just not those mushy letters - just write as though you're still getting to know each other and whats going on in your life. So keep the communication going and see how it goes. Best of luck!
Oh god. I did that and I got my heart ripped out. Please be wise about it and continue dating other guys when he's away. When he comes back, be with him, but KEEP YOUR OPTIONS OPEN. Learn from my mistake. I don't want anyone to ever have to feel the way I felt.
Military men always need nice words because in military they live straight serious life

so they missed these kind of words go ahead
